This tool lets you draw and highlight directly on top of any page of your PDF, the same way you'd mark up a printed page with a pen or highlighter, and saves the result as a new PDF with your marks permanently part of the page.
Two drawing modes are available: a Pen for precise, solid freehand lines — good for circling, underlining, or writing quick notes — and a Highlighter, which draws a thicker, semi-transparent stroke that sits over the existing text without hiding it, just like a real highlighter pen. You can change the color and stroke size for either tool, undo your last stroke if you make a mistake, or clear all marks on the current page and start over, giving you the same freedom to experiment that you'd have with a pencil and an eraser on a printed page.
Navigate between pages using the Prev/Next controls — your drawings on each page are kept in memory as you move around, so you can mark up several pages in one session before saving, without losing any earlier work as you jump back and forth. Nothing is finalized until you click Save, so feel free to review your marks across the whole document first.
The entire process runs locally in your browser; your document and your annotations are never uploaded to a server. When you save, your marks are composited onto the original page content and a new PDF downloads immediately — the rest of each page's original text and formatting stays exactly as sharp and unchanged as it was before, with no watermark and no account required. Works equally well on a touchscreen with your finger or stylus as it does with a mouse, so marking up a document from a tablet or phone is just as easy as from a desktop.
